Freezing your eggs

Hopefully the person who asked about this in class finds this helpful! My sister went through this process last year and it was kind of heartbreaking to watch. My sister was 32 and since my mom went through menopause at 36 she decided she should see a fertility doctor. The doctors told her that her best bet would be to freeze her eggs if she wanted to have a child in the next few years.

The process involves giving yourself shots to make eggs mature for harvesting, and a whole lot of doctor visits. The first week you give yourself 2 shots once a day. The next week they up the shot count to 2 shots a day twice a day. They recommended that she give herself the shots in her thigh and for the first couple of days she was fine, but after a while she started to bruise and I had to give them to her because she couldn't do it anymore. After the second week they harvest as many of the mature eggs as they can and for each woman the egg count can be different. Fertilized eggs also have a better chance of being viable during this process. And the whole process is very expensive.

If anyone has any questions feel free to ask :)
