Blog #6

What professor Stone read to us on Wednesday was extremely eye opening.  I believe that I am a very compassionate person and have always been a supporter of individuals being whomever they wish to be, but actually for a moment living a world so opposite from ours was something I will always remember.  It is very easy for a straight individual to say, “it will get better or it will be okay” when we live in a world that is so largely heterosexually advertised.  I received a tiny taste of the harsh reality that many have to face daily, nearly putting me in tears. I hope that one day we can learn to love and respect one another based on characteristics such as kindness and integrity not sexual orientation.
